One could argue that he was only on course to win in Spa because he was benefitting from an illegal, unfair advantage over everyone else i.e. an underweight car. It's similar to Charles & Lewis getting disqualified in USA 2023 for having a car too low...it gave them an unfair advantage, so why should they be allowed to profit from it? As for your other points, maybe George isn't receiving as much credit for his performances against Hamilton because Hamilton is clearly past his prime & has been frozen out by the team. In fact, it's getting fairly toxic between Hamilton & Wolff (shelf-life comments etc)28-11-2024 14:32

Max v George in a Merc would be very spicy. George is no push over like the very mediocre Perez13-04-2024 16:07

HaHa he did. He had Ferrari and BMW in 2008. 2014-2016 he had a competitive teammate. 2017-2018 he had Vettel.13-04-2024 16:02

Lewis had more competition. When his car was at its most dominant (2014-2016) he had Rosberg who was highly rated for trashing M Schumacher. Then 2017-2018 he had competition from Ferrari. He fought Vettel for the titles. I'd say only 2020 did Lewis enjoy the same kind of zero competition that Max has had13-04-2024 11:31

Lewis has also had more competition from outside teams In 2008, he fought Ferrari and even BMW were in the title fight at one stage. Then in 2017 and 2018 Ferrari built a car that was just as quick as (or on par with) Merc. Vettel led the 2017 championship for nearly the entire season and in 2018, Vettel and Hamilton went into the summer break neck and neck. In 2019 Ferrari had that monster (albeit illegal) PU. It's really only 2020 when Lewis enjoyed the type of a car advantage with zero competition that we are currently seeing from Max13-04-2024 15:55

Let's hope so. The Rb19 was a dominant rocketship. No other team could get close. Let's hope it's closer at the front in 2024.18-01-2024 18:42

Perez was awful in 2023, yet still took P2 in the standings. That is a sign of how dominant the Rb19 was. Verstappen often finished races 20s ahead, and that is with him not even pushing. Not sure why there is so much reluctance to call a spade a spade. The RB19 was a very dominant car.13-12-2023 18:56

He's a slow qualifier. Qualifies too far down but the pace in the Rb19 on race day allows him to climb up the order.13-12-2023 18:57
